Museum and interpretation centre
Before hydroelectricity, before the iron-ore adventure, the Duplessis region already had a long history: it first started with the settlement of the Montagnais people a thousand years ago! Much later came the great European expeditions for whale hunting and cod fishing and then in the 19th century, the first fishermen and settlers arrived to develop local fishery and forest industries. Our museums and interpretation centres hold the complete history and are eager to recount it in great detail! Take this opportunity to discover our artists of today: they will be the ones who will make history tomorrow!
