GULF CIRCUIT Route: Rivière-Pentecôte to Natashquan. (560 km) Features: Easy trails. Connect to Fermont via Port-Cartier by snowmobile or via Sept-Îles by train. Attractions: St. Lawrence River, main coastal towns and villages, Port-Cartier, Sept-Îles and Natashquan (the birthplace of Gilles Vigneault). ROUTE BLANCHE CIRCUIT Route: Natashquan to Blanc-Sablon. (523 km) Features: Average to difficult, marked trails, groomed by ministère des Transports, isolated with little traffic, totally self-sufficient snowmobilers welcome. Attractions: Some 15 isolated villages not connected to the 138 (including Harrington Harbour), spectacular icy landscapes. CARIBOU CIRCUIT Route: Fermont region (300 km) and Northern Challenge Trail From Port-Cartier to Fermont. (400 km) Features: Average to difficult trails, intensely cold Arctic region, self-sufficent snowmobilers welcome. Attractions: Safe outings on the tundra, access to Labrador, caribou, outfitter operation. It consists of an ungroomed off-trail of approximately 400 km which must be considered as an expedition category, expert trail with dangerous crossings. Level IV off-road vehicle guides are required.
